News Recap (Fact)
On August 27, 2025, Nvidia – the world’s most valuable company and the symbol of the “AI boom” – released its Q2 2025 financial results after the U.S. stock market closed. Wall Street had been holding its breath for this moment, as Nvidia’s numbers are widely seen as a barometer for the entire tech sector.
According to consensus analyst estimates, Nvidia’s Q2 revenue would come in around $46 billion, a staggering 53% increase year-over-year. Yet, that figure marks a sharp slowdown compared to the prior year’s 122% growth in 2024. This raises the critical question: has the AI boom reached maturity, or is it still in full swing?
Another key issue: China. Historically, China contributed about 13% of Nvidia’s revenue. But following U.S. export restrictions on advanced AI chips in late 2024, Nvidia’s specially designed H20 chips for China stalled. As a result, revenue from China is projected to fall close to zero in upcoming quarters.
